McNabb finds criticism of Griffin 'disappointing'

A LOT OF people have been criticizing Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, and Donovan McNabb doesn't like it.

RG3 has taken heat for being injury prone. And, for posting photos of himself among a pile of wedding gifts he received from fans. He also heard from haters after it was reported that he might be a Republican.

"It's depressing to me," McNabb told CBS Sports this week. "It goes beyond the quarterback position - to have people dislike the kid already and he didn't really even do anything? It's depressing. This is a different arena he's in - I lived it myself - where some people are going to dislike you because of your skin color, where they're looking for reasons to come at you, and then you have all these people, [coach Mike] Shanahan, Dr. [James] Andrews, his father, saying things, and this kid is caught up in the middle of it."

Sounds good, but don't forget that the former Eagles QB may have an agenda when it comes to the Redskins and Shanahan, who demoted McNabb to third string before trading him in July 2011.

And don't forget that in March of last year McNabb said he didn't think Griffin would be a good fit in Washington.

How did that turn out?

Oh yeah, RG3 threw 20 touchdown passes, rushed for seven more and led the Redskins to the NFC East title.

Tampa Bay Rays prospect Josh Sale is a jerk.

The 21-year-old recently returned to the Class A Charlotte after serving a 50-game suspension for testing positive for methamphetamine and an amphetamine.

Now, he's in trouble again.

The club indefinitely suspended its 17th overall pick in the 2010 MLB draft after he created a scene at a strip club and then wrote about it on Facebook.

"Threw 50 cents at a stripper tonight," he wrote. "First time. Got kicked out and she got so [mad] thought she was gonna cry. Your a stripper. Be thankful."
