Ravens lose track of Super Bowl trophy

RAVENS owner Steve Bisciotti threw a postgame Super Bowl party Sunday night, but the guest of honor failed to show.

ABC2.com in Baltimore reported that the Lombardi Trophy was - for a time - lost or misplaced.

At a news conference Monday morning, Ravens coach John Harbaugh picked up the silver trophy, smiled and said, "We hadn't seen this since last night, we thought we lost it."

He apparently wasn't joking.

You'd like to think some players were partying with it - like NHL players do with the Stanley Cup. Perhaps Joe Flacco was drinking Hurricanes from it in New Orleans' French Quarter.

But the truth, apparently, is that the team isn't quite sure where it was.

But no worries. As of Monday afternoon the Lombardi was on the team plane, headed back to Baltimore.

As for the trophy's whereabouts Sunday night . . .

Well, we may never know.

Which isn't surprising. After all, what happens in New Orleans stays in New Orleans.

A week ago, the Niners' Randy Moss said he was the greatest receiver of all time.

Former NFL linebacker Bill Romanowski, who spent two of his 16 NFL seasons with the Eagles, begs to differ.

During the second quarter of Super Bowl XLVII, Moss seemed to let a catchable pass sail over his head and into the arms of Ravens safety Ed Reed.

On a postgame appearance on Comcast SportsNet California, Romanowski ripped Moss.

"Randy Moss alligator- armed it, he didn't go up for the ball!" Romanowski screamed. "He said he was the best receiver in the DAMN world - OK, you hear me? Oh God! That's what [hissed] me off! You're playing in the SUPER BOWL, guys!"

Romanowski is uniquely qualified to blast Moss. He was, after all, a member of the 1995 Eagles when receiver Ricky Watters uttered the now-famous words, "For who? For what?" after short-arming a pass to avoid contact in a 21-6 loss to the Buccaneers.
