Eagles' head coaching candidates

With college coaches Bill O'Brien and Chip Kelly out of the mix, the Eagles' next head coach could be a current NFL assistant. Here are six candidates:

Have interviewed with the Eagles

Keith Armstrong, 47, special-teams coach, Atlanta Falcons. The Levittown native played at Temple and has coached the secondary and special teams for 16 seasons with the Falcons, Dolphins, and Bears. He also interviewed with the Bears and Chiefs, according to reports.

Mike McCoy, 40, offensive coordinator, Denver Broncos. He coached quarterbacks Tim Tebow and Peyton Manning over the last two seasons. According to reports, he is also being courted by the Bears and Cardinals. He interviewed with the Dolphins last year.

Mike Nolan, 53, defensive coordinator, Atlanta Falcons. He was the head coach for the 49ers and a defensive coordinator for the Ravens, Jets, Redskins, Giants, Broncos, and Dolphins.

Eagles have permission to interview

Bruce Arians, 60, offensive coordinator, Indianapolis Colts. He coached Temple from 1983 to 1988 and spent eight years with the Pittsburgh Steelers, three as wide receivers coach and five as offensive coordinator, before joining the Colts this season. He has a reputation for working well with quarterbacks. The Bears and Chargers are also reportedly interested in Arians.

Gus Bradley, 46, defensive coordinator, Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks defensive coordinator since 2009, he served as an assistant with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers under Jon Gruden and defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin.

Jay Gruden, 45, offensive coordinator, Cincinnati Bengals. The younger brother of former NFL head coach Jon Gruden, he turned down at last three interviews with NFL teams last year. The Cardinals are also reportedly interested.
