Eagles-Cowboys: Up-Down Drill

UP - The rookie quarterback had his best game as a starter. Foles stood in early and took a big hit before he connected with Brent Celek. He made smart decisions, and he didn't turn the ball over. The kid may have a future.

UP - Brown became the first Eagles rookie running back to run for more than 100 yards in his first two career starts since Charlie Garner accomplished the feat in 1994, but his fourth-quarter fumble killed off the Eagles' chances.

UP - Cooper is another little-used player who is showing why the Eagles kept him around. There has been an argument about using his size more in the red zone. The Eagles got the memo, and Foles threw a beautiful fade to Cooper in the corner of the end zone for a 15-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

DOWN - We're not really sure why Asomugha was playing 10 yards off Dez Bryant on a third and 3 in the third quarter. The Cowboys receiver ran a short slant, and Tony Romo hit him on the numbers for 15 yards and a first down. Asomugha did make some strong tackles during the game, though.

DOWN - The Eagles linebacker recorded his team-leading 15th tackle for loss in the second quarter, but Ryans has been a liability in pass coverage. His worst moment against the Cowboys came when he overran a tackle attempt on Bryant, and the Dallas receiver zig-zagged his way through the Eagles secondary for a 23-yard score.

UP - Why did it take so long for the Eagles to sign the veteran guard? Scott has gotten stronger with each week since he was signed before the Redskins game last month. Danny Watkins will have to get used to the bench the rest of the season.

UP - It was about time the Eagles gave the third-year defensive end a chance to show what he could do, and it was about time Graham delivered. The 2010 top pick shot out of the gate and recorded a sack and a half before the break and was active all game.

DOWN - Just because.

That's right, just because.

UP - Let's take a moment to salute the Eagles left guard. Mathis has been a pillar on an offensive line that was falling apart for most of the season. Mathis hasn't missed a snap all season, and he was even willing to move over to center for Sunday's game if Dallas Reynolds couldn't go because of an ankle sprain.

UP - The kicker added to his record-setting consecutive field-goal streak with a 43-yard kick before the half. The Eagles have a number of holes to fill this coming offseason, but they won't have to worry about getting someone to replace Henery. - Jeff McLane
