Paul Domowitch's Report Card on Eagles-Cardinals Game

RUSH OFFENSE: On paper, the rushing numbers-126 yards on 21 carries-don't look bad. But 84 of those 126 yards came in the second half when stopping the run was an afterthought for the Cardinals. LeSean McCoy had just four carries in the first half. He averaged 5.4 yards per carry, but 55 of his 70 rushing yards came in the second half after the Cardinals built a 24-point lead.

Grade: C-plus

PASS OFFENSE: The only good thing you can say about Michael Vick's performance was that he didn't throw an interception. But he did lose two fumbles, including a game-changer at the end of the first half when the Eagles were driving for a score. He also didn't throw a touchdown pass, completed only 45.9 percent of his passes and averaged just 5.9 yards yards per attempt.

Grade: D

RUN DEFENSE: With the exception of letting Ryan Williams bust loose for a 25-yard run in the fourth quarter and allowing a 14-yard Kevin Kolb scramble, the Eagles did a good job shutting down the Cardinals' anemic ground game. Even with Williams' run, the Cardinals averaged just 2.9 yards per carry.

Grade: A-minus

PASS DEFENSE: The Eagles came into Sunday's game with a league-best 35.1 opponent passer rating. But they couldn't stop Kevin Kolb or Larry Fitzgerald. Kolb completed 17 of 24 passes for 222 yards, 2 touchdowns and no interceptions. Fitzgerald gave the Eagles fits in the first half, catching seven passes for 105 yards and a touchdown.

Grade: C-minus

SPECIAL TEAMS: Rookie punt returner Damaris Johnson had a first-quarter fumble and later made an ill-advised decision to fair catch a punt at the five-yard line. Punter Chas Henry averaged 49.2 yards per attempt, but often outkicked his coverage as Cardinals PR averaged 10.4 yards per return.

Grade: C OVERALL:

This wasn't one of Andy Reid's better days. His poor use of timeouts in the second quarter put the Eagles in a bind when they were driving for a score late in the first half and had to pass because they were out of timeouts. Three more lost fumbles brings the Eagles' giveaway total to 12 in just three games, which puts them on pace for 64 this season.
