Recent NFL draft picks taken at No. 15

As long as they pick a guy with better luck than Jerome McDougle, the Eagles should land a decent player Thursday night if they hold on to the 15th pick. Looking back at that spot, not every guy has been a gem, but most have at least been serviceable. Here are some of the recent No. 15s:

2011, Mike Pouncey, C, Dolphins: Started all 16 games for Miami and was arguably their best lineman. Grade: A.

2010, Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, Giants: The guy Eagles fans always think of whenever Brandon Graham's name comes up. Not good. Grade: A.

2009, Brian Cushing, LB, Texans: Overcame the stain of a four-game performance-enhancing drug suspension in 2010 by being named Houston's MVP by his teammates in 2011. Grade: B+.

2008, Branden Albert, T, Chiefs: Has started 60 of 64 games in his career and is one of KC's better linemen. Grade: B+.

2007, Lawrence Timmons, LB, Steelers: Signed a 6-year, $50 million contract last summer. Grade: B+.

2006, Tye Hill, CB, Rams: Started 10 games as a rookie, but was out of football by 2011. Grade: D.

2005, Derrick Johnson, LB, Chiefs: Had a lackluster 2009, but 2011 was his best season. Grade: B.

2004, Michael Clayton, WR, Buccaneers: Had seven touchdown catches in his rookie year and three in the 7 years since. Grade: C.

2003, Jerome McDougle, DE, Eagles: Already saddled with injury problems, McDougle was shot in the abdomen during a robbery in Miami and missed the entire 2005 season. His last season was 2008. Grade: F.

2002, Albert Haynesworth, DT, Titans: The guy has Canton-level talent. Shame he's a head case. Grade: B+.

Triviality

Andrew Luck will be the fourth Stanford quarterback chosen No.?1 overall, most of any school. John Elway (1983) and Jim Plunkett (1971) won two Super Bowls each. Bobby Garrett (1954) had a severe stuttering problem, which hampered signal-calling; he played in only nine NFL games. n
