Eagles look set for a road victory

Eagles (-2) over BILLS: So, you're a little confused. The Birds (1-3) head north to Buffalo (3-1), and the road team with a three-game losing streak is the favorite. What? Apparently, the oddsmakers still believe in the Eagles and Mike Vick, while they have reservations about the young Buffalo team. The betting public loves to play the Birds, and coming in on an 0-3 run, in an early almost must-win situation, they'll get a giant bundle of action. And when folks start to do their research, they'll find these powerful numbers. The Eagles know how to do it, the winning thing on the road, grabbing nine W's in the last 13 games away from home. Speaking of the road, the Birds have gone over in seven of their last eight. If Alex Henery makes a few FGs, it should be a very happy ride back home.

LIONS (-5) over Bears: Is Ford Field gonna be jacked up, or what? Monday night in Motown, baby. Detroit is one of only two perfect teams in the NFL (Green Bay is the other), but the Lions have bragging rights, since they have the longest streak of perfection in the league at 8-0. Yup, eight and a bagel for the surging Lions. Four in a row to close the 2010 season and four in a row to open 2011. As a matter of fact, the last time Detroit lost, it was to Chicago, but Matthew Stafford did not play. Stafford will be rocking the party Monday night, and the result should be an easy win, so make this out Best Bet. But just as last week, when we advised you to go all in on the Eagles in the first half, we have the same deal here. Take all the profits you made on that selection, and grab everything else that's lying around on the dresser, in the drawers, wherever, and let it all ride, baby!

Raiders (+6) over TEXANS: Couple of reasons to like this Silver & Black underdog. Oakland has been very profitable on the road, covering both games this season, and four of the last five. At 80 percent, it's tough not to look that way. Then you have a monster injury for Houston. All-Pro WR Andre Johnson will miss the game, and when you take a game-changer away from the Texans' offense, it becomes just ordinary, and ordinary ain't good enough to cover a half-dozen.

Buccaneers (+3) over 49ERS: Really like what coach Jim Harbaugh has brought to San Francisco and how he has changed the culture already, but like what coach Raheem Morris has done with Tampa Bay even more. Why? Check this amazing stat from the Double V archives. Since the end of the 2009 season, the Bucs have been astounding against the spread on the road, covering 10 in a row with one push. Can you possibly buck a 10-0-1 run? Not in this lifetime.

Jets (+9) over PATRIOTS: Mark Sanchez was horrible against the Ravens Sunday night, but the good news is, he gets All-Pro center Nick Mangold back, and life should be kinder. It's never easy against New England, especially the way Tom Brady has opened up the season, but here's the good news, for the Jets anyway. The Patriots' D is the worst in the entire NFL, that's right - dead last, No. 32 - giving up 477.5 yards per game. Gotta believe the New Yorkers are a live 'dog.

Cardinals (+3) over VIKINGS: Larry Fitzgerald returns to his hometown and will combine with Kevin Kolb for a humongous day in front of his friends and family as Arizona barks all the way to the bank.

Seahawks (+10) over GIANTS: New York has covered only two of the last seven as a double-digit favorite, and this Seattle team knows how to come back at garbage time when the game is out of reach, and should sneak in for a backdoor cover.

Chiefs (+2) over COLTS: KC has covered three of its last four as a 'dog, and Indy can't win. Buy the points.

PANTHERS (+6) over Saints: This Cam Newton guy is perfect against the spread at 3-0-1, so we'll give him another shot.

JAGUARS (-2) over Bengals: Cleveland does not get the job done as a favorite, covering only two of the last nine.

STEELERS (-3) over Titans: So many bumps and bruises, but Pittsburgh is still at home, where 10 of the last 13 have been W's.

BRONCOS (+4) over Chargers: Would not step out on a limb, but Denver's last four losses at home have ended by an average of 3 ppg.

FALCONS (+6) over Packers: This is the perfect spot for Atlanta to avenge that ugly 48-21 playoff loss to Green Bay.
