The Eagles, again in the NFL's Top 10 most valuable franchises, are worth $1.16 billion, according to the rankings released by Forbes yesterday.

That ranks seventh in the NFL, and amazingly puts them fourth in the four-team NFC East.

The Cowboys remain the NFL's most valuable franchise at $1.85 billion, which is second among sports franchises in the world to Manchester United.

Following the Cowboys are the Washington Redskins ($1.55 billion), New England Patriots ($1.4 billion), New York Giants ($1.3 billion), New York Jets ($1.223 billion) and Houston Texans ($1.2 billion). The Giants and Jets both saw large increases with the opening of their new stadium.

The Eagles are among 15 NFL teams worth a billion dollars. The average NFL franchise worth is $1.04 billion, 1.4 percent more than last year, and the top 10 teams saw an average increase in value of 4 percent.

The Eagles also were seventh in value last year at $1.1 billion.

The survey is based on the 2010 season and does not include this year's lockout.

Eighteen teams increased in value, five remained the same and nine decreased in worth.
