HEY JERRY JONES: SHUT YOUR MOUTH

A LOT OF Eagles fans are talking Super Bowl. Even Birds defensive coordinator Juan Castillo has mentioned the "Big Game" (See Page 72).

A LOT OF Eagles fans are talking Super Bowl.

Even Birds defensive coordinator Juan Castillo has mentioned the "Big Game" (See Page 72).

But for some reason, Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones wants to rain on our eventual parade.

Jones recently cautioned the Eagles, and their fans, not to get their hopes up.

"That happened to us last year and I can share with them or anybody else, just because it looks good on paper doesn't mean it's going to work," Jones told the Sporting News.

The Cowboys were highly touted after winning the NFC East in 2009, but went 6-10 last season and failed to make the playoffs.

What Jones failed to mention is that it wasn't high expectations that did the Cowboys in. It was the fact that they sucked.

Favre unreal

Note to all those fans who thought they got Brett Favre's autograph at the Packers' practice on Thursday: It wasn't him.

According to a report, a "fake" Favre, who resembles the now-I'm-retired-now-I'm-not quarterback, showed up at practice - and later at a few Green Bay sports bars - posing for pictures and signing autographs while wearing a No. 4 jersey.

So those signatures and photos are as worthless as the real Favre's promise to retire.

"This has taken on a life of its own, like Elvis," Favre's travel coordinator David Thomason told the Green Bay Press-Gazette of the fake Favre encounters. "But Brett has not been in Green Bay."
