SHAWN ANDREWS is an ungrateful fraud.

Andrews, who was released by the Eagles in March, signed with the New York Giants a little over a week ago.

On Friday night, the two-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman played in a preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens, and saw fit to diss the Eagles, a team that had stuck by him through injuries and a bout with depression.

"It just felt good to run back out, even though I'm at my new home with the G-Men," he told the Star-Ledger of Newark, N.J. "I have to say it feels much more of a family atmosphere than what I'm used to in the past. Just starting with that in the locker room and then running out there, it's an unbelievable feeling."

Is this guy for real?

A family atmosphere?

Did he forget that the Eagles - in what many perceived as a move to simply keep Shawn happy - signed his brother, Stacy, also an offensive lineman, to a 6-year, $39 million free-agent deal last season?

Guess that doesn't count as "family atmosphere," huh?

Shawn Andrews, who was the Eagles' first-round pick in the 2004 draft, missed almost two seasons due to back surgeries. And, he missed the first 17 days of training camp in 2008 due to a bout with depression.

At times, he seemed to give the impression that he lacked passion for the game. At times, he seemed more interested in a music career than an NFL career.

The Eagles did pretty much everything they could to keep him happy. And yet, he had the nerve to tell the Star-Ledger the following:

"It [playing for the Giants] just feels like home. And I'm not just saying that to say the right thing. It really does. And I told the offensive line guys that. You can tell everybody is sincere and want to be here and work together. I can't say it's been like that my whole career."

Perhaps Shawn forgot that the Giants play in Philly on Nov. 21 in a nationally televised night game. Not to worry. Eagles' fans are sure to provide a "family atmosphere" he'll never forget.
