Eagles Notebook: Eagles' linebacker Bradley tweaks calf

The Eagles' defensive plans for 2010 looked a little wobbly when middle linebacker Stewart Bradley limped off yesterday favoring his left leg, the day after Marlin Jackson's injury. Let's see - middle linebacker and free safety. Wasn't there some sort of trouble there last season?

Bradley left the field and went inside midway through yesterday's workout. The Eagles later said he had tweaked a calf, an injury that shouldn't be a big deal, unless Bradley aggravates it or something. Through a team spokesman, he declined to speak with reporters, but he later tweeted "all is well."

"Stew looks good," tight end Brent Celek offered. "Looks like his old self to me. I was telling him the other day, it doesn't look like he was ever injured at all. I expect big things out of him, and I think he does out of himself, too."

Bradley missed all of last season with a torn right ACL.

On Twitter, left guard Todd Herremans has shown little concern about the sore left foot that is keeping him out of drills. One musing yesterday concerned the fact that his toothpaste label declared it could be poisonous if swallowed . . . Eagles worked out a linebacker from Upper Darby High and the University of Minnesota, Simoni Lawrence, who was cut a week or so ago by the Rams after signing with them as an undrafted rookie . . . Right now the Birds have 86 players on their 80-man roster, with a dozen more draftees to sign, following Charles Scott's lead. Once a guy signs, he counts toward the 80-man limit. There will be some cuts before Lehigh, unless several players suffer serious injury . . . Today is the Eagles Youth Partnership's annual Playground Build, this time at Wister Elementary School in Germantown.
