Michael Vick said playing for the Eagles next year would be "an everyday struggle" and said he "won't be a Wildcat guy."

The comments came in an interview with Bob Costas that aired last night during NBC's pregame show before the Eagles hosted Dallas.

The Eagles signed Vick to a $1.6 million contract for 2009, with a team option for the second year at $5.2 million.

"It would be hard," Vick said of returning to the Eagles, according to excerpts released by NBC. "It would be an everyday struggle. But I would have to take that time to hone my skills and get better. I'm excited about the opportunity I have moving forward whether it's with Philadelphia or another team."

However, after last night's game, Vick told the Associated Press that his focus is on helping the Eagles win a Super Bowl and not where he'll play next year. He declined to speculate about the future, although he said has spoken about it with Tony Dungy, the former Colts coach who is an analyst for NBC and a Vick adviser.

"It's what I thought it would be," Vick told the AP. "I knew I couldn't come in and do anything that would disrupt the rhythm of the offense and what we had going on here. I knew I was going to have to be patient."

Vick has seen limited playing time this season, with many of his opportunities coming out of the Wildcat formation. He entered last night's game with two completions on six attempts for 6 yards passing and 11 carries for 25 yards rushing. In last night's loss to the Cowboys, Vick had one carry for 2 yards.

"I won't be a Wildcat guy. I can't," Vick told NBC. "It's a different style of play. It's almost like a hit-or-miss type of thing. My position is quarterback. That's what I was born to do."

Vick also conceded that he has had some doubts about his ability, after serving 18 months in federal prison.

"I would be lying if I said there wasn't some doubt there," he said. "I'm being realistic about the situation."

Dungy said Buffalo could be a possible landing spot next year.

"I told Michael to just worry about this year," he said. "It's technically up to Philadelphia. If they want him back, he has to stay there. If they don't, there are some teams looking for quarterbacks: Cleveland, St. Louis and Washington.

"But I think a dark horse is Buffalo. They talked originally. There was some communication there. I think that could be a good spot."

Ungrateful, ignorant waste of a roster spot.

The only thing Vick is helping the Eagles do this season is to waste every down they put him in for.

Trade bait? Not likely. Unless and until Vick actually does something worth mentioning, what other team is going to have any interest?

Vick used to be a very good QB, but right now, this story/headline read as the ultimate, "Who gives a ***t?"

We're paying Vick 1.7 million to run a wildcat 2 times a game when we could of given that money to DAWKINS. Great move Fat Andy. Please fire this guy!!!

Why was he even signed by the eagles? Another bad move in a long series of bad moves by this club. Has Vick even started his "group talks" and/or community service? Get him "outta here"!

There's no way anyone will trade for him at $5.2 million when he hasn't shown anything. Especially since the Eagles will cut him before picking up a $5.2 million option. Good point ArtieLange

Fraud. always has been. always will be. Plus unless Dungy adises him on what he says, he comes up like an ungrateful punk. Beamer compromised Va Tech by kissing up to him and his brother at Va Tech, and now Reid has to admit he made a mistake in buying in on this joke. Should of kept Dawkins, the Eagles integrity certainly took a hit.

What's wrong with these haters? Still mad that their pitiful protests were unnoticed?

Mike Vick should decline any and all interview requests. This "experiment" is failing miserably from a football standpoint. Everytime Vick speaks, he sounds grateful and ungrateful at the same time. Maybe he'd play more if he looked like he could still run. Right now, it's a wasted down.
