"We weren't floundering in our zone as much because we played the body a lot more and helped out when the time was right," Anderson said. "Forwards were collapsing in front of the net, all the little things that add up. I just thought our concerted effort was much better tonight."
Defensemen Tobias Enstrom and Ron Hainsey forced overtime with third-period goals, and Rich Peverley and Slava Kozlov scored in a shootout to give the Thrashers a 3-2 victory over the visiting St. Louis Blues last night.
Marty Reasoner set up both third-period goals to help Atlanta snap a four-game home losing streak. St. Louis earned a point for the third straight game, but is winless in five. The Blues also lost a shootout to the Flyers Saturday night.
Andy McDonald and David Perron scored the Blues' goals.

* At Denver, former Flyer Ryan Potulny and Dustin Penner scored two of Edmonton's four power-play goals and also had assists as the Oilers handed the Colorado Avalanche their first home loss of the season, 5-3. Patrick O'Sullivan and Tom Gilbert added power-play goals, Andrew Cogliano also scored, and Nikolai Khabibulin made 34 saves to help Edmonton end a three-game losing streak.
