Wow. That was U-G-L-Y. The Eagles lost to the Raiders, 13-9. There were so many issues: The o-line allowed six sacks, the defense couldn't stop a team that hadn't moved the ball for three weeks, the offense went three and out four consecutive drives, and David Akers missed two field goals. Mental mistakes, injuries, penalties and coaching blunders. This one had it all.
So tell me guys, are you worried about this Eagles team? Is this who they are? Or did they simply overlook an awful team?

Re: That debacle
They're so inconsistent it's infuriating. Last week they had us riding high, praising DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin as the greatest receiving duo this team has seen in ages. The future looked bright. Then they come out and lose to the Raiders. Pitiful. I'll tell you two areas you simply must be worried about: the offensive line and Jeremiah Trotter. He can't get back to radio fast enough.

Ring. "Hello?" "Jon, it's Andy. Can you come over to the complex? And bring your stuff." "Sure, but what took you so long?"

Re: That debacle
Well, there was a reason why Trot was on the field on that pivotal third and 10 late in the game: Omar Gaither had a sprained foot. Still, I think you could have thrown Reid out there, and he might have stayed within 2 yards of Gary Russell. Let's be frank here: There's no way Trotter should be on this team. He's a great guy, a tremendous leader and one of the organization's all-time greats, but he's too slow. On Miller's 86-yard TD it was downright sad watching Trot chase after the tight end.

Maybe Trot can be the Eagles' new coffee guy? So not chestbump-worthy . . . Sorry, Trot. We still love you. Ugh.

Re: That debacle
In light of the Trotter disaster, I'm not sure if Andy brings Runyan back. Reid was a bowlful of cherries after the game, by the way. He didn't like my question about the late first-half clock management, and he chided a reporter who mistakenly said Michael Vick when he meant Donovan McNabb. "Your game is about as good as ours was," Reid said.

Re: That debacle
I don't know about you, McLane, but I gave it 110 percent and left everything on the field. That's more than the Eagles can say.
