The Eagles lost their final exhibition game, 38-27, to the New York Jets tonight at Giants Stadium.
Michael Vick scored his first Eagles touchdown and threw his first Eagles interception during the contest.
Earlier in the day, Vick learned from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell that his suspension for his dogfighting conviction will end in time for him to play in the third game of the regular season.
Last night, the Eagles led 24-17 at halftime and held the edge for most of the contest. But the Jets rallied for the victory, scoring three second-half touchdowns.
The Eagles took a 14-7 lead early in the second quarter when Vick scored his first touchdown as an Eagle.
Danny Woodhead's 55-yard touchdown run for the Jets erased the lead established by Vick's score.
Eagles kicker David Akers made a 48-yard field goal to give the Eagles a 17-14 lead.
Then newly-signed tight end Tony Curtis caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from Kevin Kolb to push the Eagles' edge to 24-14.
Jets kicker Jay Feely booted a 47-yard field goal to keep his team within a touchdown at the break.
Most of the Eagles projected starters did not play because coach Andy Reid wanted to avoid injuries before the Sept. 13 regular season opener against Carolina.
With Kolb at quarterback, the Eagles took the opening kickoff and went 79 yards before scoring on LeSean McCoy's 1-yard run. The key play in the drive was a 43-yard pass interference penalty on former Eagles cornerback Lito Sheppard.
Jets rookie quarterback Mark Sánchez completed his first five passes, the last being a 21-yard touchdown to Jerricho Crotchery to tie the score at 7-7 late in the first quarter.
Vick's touchdown came after Jets quarterback Kellen Clemens' pass was intercepted by Eagles cornerback Jack Ikegwuonu. Vick ran 2-yards on a quarterback draw for the touchdown.
Vick entered the game for the first time late in the first quarter. He sporadically replaced Kolb, who started for the Eagles.
