Andy on ice? Unreal
Oh, not Eagles coach Andy Reid. He'll either be on a plane or already in Arizona for Sunday's NFC Championship Game. We're talking about some dude from Philly named Andy Reid.
The event coincides with the franchise's support of the Eagles' Super Bowl run as the Phantoms have also changed the time of their game against Albany this Sunday to 7:05 p.m. to accommodate the 3 o'clock Birds-Cardinals game.
We tried to get to the bottom of how the Phantoms found someone with the same name, but calls to Comcast-Spectacor's public relations office late yesterday were unsuccessful.
While Big Red won't be in the house, fans will get to to see Flyers center Danny Briere in action as Friday marks the second game of his AHL conditioning assignment.
Perhaps it's smart for the Phantoms to have their "Andy" drop the puck on Friday. We saw what happened to Sarah Palin at a Flyers game a few months back, and should the Eagles come up short Sunday, we'd hate to see what this guy would have to endure.

It came to our attention that in Rowan's recent men's basketball game against Neumann, the Profs won, 72-57, without taking a single three-point shot.
"It certainly wasn't in the game plan [to not attempt any threes]," said Rowan coach Joe Cassidy. "There have been a bunch of games where we didn't even make a three. I've talked to a bunch of people and my guess is that this happens like once in a thousand basketball games."
Upon hearing Cassidy's remarks, University of the Sciences coach Dave Pauley said, "Hey, there were nights when I've asked my team not to take any threes."
Umm, OK.
