Morning Report: Boldin making noise

Eagles fans are hoping yesterday's trade demand by Anquan Boldin will provide the game-breaker they so ardently desire.

The wide receiver made it clear he wants out of Arizona, saying the Cardinals have reneged on a promise to renegotiate his contract and that he has no relationship with coach Ken Whisenhunt.

"I'm a football player. That's about it," Boldin told the Associated Press when asked to characterize his dealings with the coach these days.

That's funny. We thought being a football player was what life in the NFL was about.

Maybe Boldin thought he had wandered into Manchester United's camp by accident.

There's a continuous thread to this nonsense - Boldin's agent is Drew Rosenhaus.

If you recall, a certain Philadelphia wide receiver who was represented by Mr. Next Question began attacking management, then the coach, then quarterback Donovan McNabb when he was unhappy with his contract.

Chicago linebacker Lance Briggs ripped coach Lovie Smith and Cincinnati wide receiver Chad Johnson spent an off-season roasting the entire Bengals organization.

All were Rosenhaus clients hoping to force their way out of town or get - aw, you guessed - a new contract.

But with the Eagles organization still smarting from Terrell Owens, Boldin has less chance of landing here than Brett Favre.

Next question!

Gotham hatred. If you think you hate the Yankees, check out what Jeff Passan had to say on Yahoo Sports.

"The New York Yankees are dead. They are not merely tapping the bucket with their tootsies, sampling the dust with their teeth, booking refundable tickets on the Stygian Ferry. They are on Line 1 with Dr. Kevorkian asking for the soonest appointment possible.

"The fork has been stuck, the crematorium is hot and the harp's a-playin'.

"Happy trails, Yankees. It won't be the same without you."

Wonder what he thinks of the Phillies.
