McNabb’s ailing shoulder ends his week

Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb will not practice any more this week because of tendinitis in his shoulder.

"It's very similar to what he had in 2004," Eagles coach Andy Reid said after today's workout. "We're going to back off just like in '04 and he should be ready for training camp. There is no surgery and should be no repercussions. He'll get treatment for about two weeks and he should be ready to go."

McNabb's tendinitis in 2004 did not prevent him from leading the Eagles to the Super Bowl, but he's been plagued with injuries since then.

McNabb missed the last seven games of 2005 with a sports hernia. In 2006, he missed the last eight games, including the playoffs, with a torn knee ligament. In 2007, he missed two games with a sprained ankle and injured thumb.

Kevin Kolb worked with the first-team during today's practice.

Also, the Eagles announced they have named Jon Sandusky director of pro personnel and Louis Riddick pro scout.

A fishing boat rocked against a dock yesterday at Dr. Thomas W. McFarland's scenic Shore home. But the Wynnewood dentist apparently has been doing more than jigging for flounder.

His home was searched in connection with dumping of medical debris, which has been discovered along Jersey Shore towns.
