Licht's departure has not been announced, but it was reported in yesterday's Trenton Times.

A team spokesman said the Eagles had no comment on the matter.

Licht, 38, who came to the Eagles from the Patriots in 2003, was closely associated with general manager Tom Heckert, with whom he worked in Miami in 1995-96.

Word around the organization is that Licht had a falling-out with vice president of football administration Howie Roseman, the protege of team president Joe Banner. At one point, Licht and Roseman were perceived to be close friends.

Apparently, Licht was told earlier in the offseason to seek other employment, that his job would end with last month's NFL draft.

It is unclear how the Eagles' hierarchy will be affected by Licht's departure. Roseman has been viewed as a rising star in the organization, but Licht's job had to do with scouting, and Roseman's expertise is contracts. The Eagles are known to think a lot of Ryan Grigson, who just completed his second year as director of college scouting, after 2 years as Western regional scout. *
