At Cal: A first-team All-America in 2007, scored 29 total touchdowns in 36 career games as a wide receiver and return specialist. Set a Pac-10 Conference record with six punt returns for touchdowns in his career, two shy of the NCAA all-time record of eight, set by Wes Welker of Texas Tech (2000-03) and Antonio Perkins of Oklahoma (2001-04).

As a receiver: Caught 65 passes for 762 yards (11.7 average) and six touchdowns as a junior and finished his career with 2,423 receiving yards and 22 touchdown catches, ranking him third on the school's all-time list in both categories. His 162 catches are the sixth-highest total in school history.

As a returner: Career average of 16.7 yards per punt return set a Cal record and ranks second in Pac-10 history behind baseball Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson, of UCLA (18.8). As a sophomore, led the NCAA with an 18.2-yard average and school and league season records with four touchdowns on 25 punt returns for a school record 455 yards.

All-purpose: His 3,293 career all-purpose yards rank third in school history behind Deltha O'Neal (4,998 yards, 1996-99) and Russell White (3,367 yards, 1990-92).

Family affair: His brother, Byron, was a former receiver at San Jose State (1990-91) and spent two seasons (1992-93) on the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad.

On the diamond: Was ranked by Baseball America as the third-best all-around athlete in the Major League Baseball draft prospect pool in 2005 after hitting .380 with 20 stolen bases in his senior season in high school.
