Les Bowen | The pick
If the Eagles are going to make a stand, this is the week. If I thought there was still a real chance for this season, I'd pick them to win; the Birds can shut down the run, they're playing a running team, and
FedEx Field has been very good to Andy Reid over the years (6-2). There are signs that the Eagles' offensive line is feeling healthier this week. As I've noted previously, this team certainly has decent talent, better talent than its record.
But I'm not picking the Eagles to win. If they make that stand, fine, good for them. I'll have to see it.
I don't know if the Eagles are going to be able to run the ball that well against Washington. Depending on this team's passing game, right now, to come up big against anybody is really dicey. That should have happened last week, and didn't.
I see more sacks, more key mistakes and more squandered chances, in a squandered season. *
Prediction
Redskins 20, Eagles 16.
