FROM THE LIP:
-- "You need to go to sleep instead of watching these games. That TV will mess your brain up. I'm going to start teaching my kids when I get them that TV will mess your brain up. We're going to read books. We might even read the papers if you guys stay positive."- Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew, on why he doesn't watch "Monday Night Football."
-- "Nobody's feeling sorry for us. You think the Cardinals are [saying], 'Oh, gosh, that's terrible.' Man, they're licking their chops or chopping their licks. They can't wait to get here." - Redskins offensive-line coach Joe Bugel, on his injury-ravaged unit.
-- "If they make it to Arizona, we will see them again. Seriously, I'm not backing down from that statement. If they make it to Arizona, we will see them again." - Cowboys wideout Patrick Crayton on a potential Super Bowl rematch against the Patriots.
-- "Adrian looks like a grown man playing in a Pee Wee game." - Vikings QB Tarvaris Jackson on teammate Adrian Peterson.
THUMBS UP:
To Vinny Testaverde, who led the Panthers to a 25-10 win over the Cardinals. Testaverde, who turns 44 Nov. 13 and signed with the team just last week, coolly completed 20 of 33 passes for 206 yards, one TD and no interceptions.
THUMBS UP: To Chiefs running back Priest Holmes, who is expected to play in his first game Sunday in almost 2 years. Holmes hasn't played since Oct. 30, 2005, when he suffered neck and spinal injuries from a hit by Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman. He considered retirement, but then reported to training camp and has been on the team's physically unable to perform list. He practiced for the first time Wednesday and could be the team's third-down back Sunday.
