Reid: 'Pretty Significant' Vick Concussion

Eagles coach Andy Reid all but acknowledged that quarterback Michael Vick won't play this Sunday at Washington.
Reid said Vick has a "pretty significant" concussion from Sunday's loss to the Cowboys. He said the Eagles will follow the league protocol, and that rookie Nick Foles will take the practice reps Wednesday.
"Michael's our quarterback, but I have confidence in Nick," said Reid, who danced around the issue of what would happen if Foles played well. He said he isn't thinking in terms of going to the rookie after a certain number of losses.
Reid said right guard Danny Watkins might be back this week. He wouldn't speculate on whether Dennis Kelly might move out to tackle in place of King Dunlap or Demetress Bell.
Ried said tackle Jason Peters, trying to come back from Achilles' surgery, won't practice this week.
Good luck, Vick. 14 years of- Finally, the tall White Guy.
Voytas - 14 years of: Yeah. I'm surprised Mike lasted as long as he did.
The poor guy has been hit over 190 times and sacked nearly 30 times.
P.S. "Reaching the playoffs is absolutely possible."
"This is fixable."
"I just need to put my players in better position to be successful."

Hey Vick- In some cultures, a competitor no longer able to perform at the highest of levels is body slammed into the concrete, electrocuted, drowned or strangled. Can you believe how barbaric that is, Michael? Thank G-d we here in Philly are much more civilized in the way we treat our athletes. CurleyQLink- Not really, the defeated always get bad treatment from the gladiators to soldiers (losing side of war). Plus, you are comparing dogs to humans. DOGS! I have cats and dogs as pets, but they are just animals, no where near the level of importance as a human being.
penncrow19 - And much higher on the evolutionary & moral chain than conVicktim.

Did anybody ask Andy how come King Dunlap is so stupid? The guy was a one-man sabotague team. mportik
i dont know if the concussion happened on the sims tackle, but it looked like sims was pushing vick backwards long after vick had gotten rid of the ball.. why wasnt a personal foul called there? zwarte piet
Jeffery...Show the leadership and courage and wisdom that AR lacks...and do it now.....AR Howie, Marty, Mudd, Washburn, April ALL must go....Hire Polian as a consultant and let him help you select football people and a real coach........Your soft approach only excerbates the problem... nuggett- The time is yours!
The Eagles should follow Mike Shannahan's protocol and disregard concussions as just a slight headache that can be fixed by playing the game. lonewolf 10
Maybe Reid has a wink wink agreement with Mike Vick. Goes like this: Vick agrees to sit out the rest of the season with this injury or that. Sitting out prevents a serious injury that is very possible with this O-line. Then when Reid gets fired and Vick released, they join up again at Reid's next job. Of course Vick gets another big contract. Lets Eat- It won't matter who we have at QB. The o-line is horrible. I wish Nick all the best and to stay healthy. I believe this a new era for the birds. I also feel that it will take quite some time to recover from the disastrous last few drafts. Whomever the coach is, let it be someone with personnel acumen. Otherwise, it will be much of the same product that has been trotted out on the field the last few years. Thankfully, the current regime's days are numbered. That is if Lurie has a brain.
Its been a tough year. Vick gave his all. Its Nick's turn, he is the future as I don't see the Birds keeping Vick next year. John From Richmond Va
