Re: Super Seven

I missed the revealing four-minute interview Michael Vick gave yesterday before practice. By the time I walked the 40 or so feet from Brent Celek's locker to join the scrum, Eagles PR guru Derek Boyko cut the Vick interview off. Our esteemed colleague Bob Brookover summed up Vick's comments thusly: Wildcat quarterback bad, Leavenworth prison worse.

What do you make of the Vick situation? He told Bob Costas that he didn't envision himself an Eagle next year, and Tony Dungy said that Buffalo would be a good fit for him. What gives? Is he happy or is he not?

Re: Super Seven

He always seems happy to me. Honestly, he's been one of the better interview subjects coming out of the Eagles' locker room this year. I think having to remake his image has something to do with that, but I'd take a back and forth with Vick over Asante Samuel any day.

As for being an Eagle, I'm sure he's torn. They've helped resurrect his career, but Reid and Co., have also damaged his playing stock with the worst-run Wildcat I've ever seen. It could be worse, though, worser (I don't care if it's not a word) than Leavenworth. He could be in Buffalo.

Re: Super Seven

Remember when Brookie dropped his phone in the toilet? I just dropped mine in a kitchen sink full of water. So if you want to call me, don't bother for a while. I am not happy.

I think it's clear Vick views his Philadelphia time as sort of an athletic halfway house. He's proving to other teams that his presence isn't radioactive. The Eagles might get a decent draft pick for their trouble. The only problem is that other teams will look at Vick's performance here and decide that he can't play any more. That's possible.

In-prison not happy, Bob?

If you can read body language, most can, then you can see that Mc Nabb doesn't want anyone but himself playing quarterback. He scolls at Vick, he claps when the play doesn't go well for Vick, he doesn't want anything to do with his future replacement, Kolb. He is the clown, and clowns are illusionists to make you laugh,,, not lead the team to a win.

I am guessing McNabb got upset that first time Vick replaced him in what is laughingly called the Wildcat: Eagles version and Reid backed off his Vick experiment. Reid is tied to McNabb , good play or bad, and he will not, under any circumstances do anything to make McNabb upset because he thinks McNabb is a great player. Great is not quite Joe Mantano or Joh Elway, He is not even Bart Star. Greast is not the word I would use for McNabb. He is a more like a black, athletic version of Ron Jaworski, although I don't think Jaws had as many total give-up games as McNabb, (Oakland, Baltimore, etc.) Reid should have replaced McNabb with either Vick or Kolb in two ganes, but McNabb would have none of that, and Reid doesn't have the stones to switch to Kolb, even though it is clear to everyone, (exceept storts reporters), that Kolb is ready and does not choke under pressure.

So far this Vick situaton has been a dead loss for the Eagles. His few plays have been pathetic, they have spent efforts in practice getting him back in shape and improving his skills that may benefit another team, and they got tons of bad press and lost fans for signing him. On the other hand, if the Eagles want him for the future, you can't let him look too good in public before you sign him to a longterm contract or there will be salary competition from the many teams who need a starting QB. Maybe Lurie's original plan to have Vick as the next QB changed after Kolb had several good games, so now Lurie doesn't care as much about the economic bargain he thought he had secured with the Vick signing. In any event you can't have 3 starting QB salaries next season, somebody has to go or Vick will have to agree to earning a lot less than he used to.

Move him. He is a despicable person and he can't play QB in the NFL. If he could he wouldn't hand the ball off everytime he enters a game.

I have no CLUE what Andy is trying to do with that "thing" he is experimenting with. I'm sure it would have panned out if the O-Line wasn't such a continuing headache.....for ALL the offense.(And to call it the "Wildcat" is to demean what Miami has made out of it....good, hard-charging running game, with very good misdirection.) Right now I'm wondering what happened to the team the early roster was supposed to make. Too many injuries, shaky play, and head cases for the offense to overcome, and the defense to allow for. BUT!>>>>GO IGGLES!!!

Sure ConVick can give a good interview, he has a very high priced PR team behind him in an attempt to clean up his image. The guy is a thug and can't do much on the field! Let's hope he just goes away!

McNabb will never let Vick or KOlb into the plays. It's time for the selfish little boy to go. He has hindered this team way to long.

Mcnabb is an aging failing paranoid QB. The Eagles organization has continually placated this smiling clown. The only reason this sloth is still the QB is because of Reids stubborness, (he was Reids first ever draft pick). Mcbadd pushed for Vick, even pleaded with Reid via cellphone but what the soup boy wanted was for Vick to replace Kolb (his real competition) if he were to get hurt. Now however the wildcat play means one less McStat pass attempt and chance to pad to his stats which is all Fatnabb cares about.
