Re: 44-6

I know it's all Phillies all the time, and for good reason, but there is a pretty big football game coming up Sunday night, by which time, I think, the World Series will be over (much to Cole Hamels' liking, I'm sure). The last time Dallas was here was one of the most amazing days I've ever witnessed. It was like Mardi Gras at the Linc. I swear the stadium was rocking. The Cowboys never had a chance.

Last season was last season and this season is this season, but do you think it is possible to have carryover from one year to the next? And what's your opinion of the Cowboys now that everyone's favorite receiver is gone?

Re: 44-6

No carryover. Andy Reid is usually a terrible quote, but when he says every year is different, he's absolutely right.

As for this year's edition of the Cowboys, they're a lot like the Eagles. A lot of new faces who are trying to establish a solid team chemistry. At the moment, they seem to be moving in that direction.

Re: 44-6

There may not be carryover for the Eagles, but there sure seems to be carryover for the Cowboys (like the Giants last week). That loss is referred to simply by the numbers: 44-6. That was as gutless a performance as folks in Dallas have ever seen, and the Cowboys retooled their roster and coaching staff as a result.

What do you make of these numbers: The Eagles have won seven of their last nine at home against the Cowboys, and have beaten them by double digits 10 times this decade and eight times by at least 20 points? Have the Cowboys been that bad? Or have the Eagles been that good? Or is the answer somewhere in the middle?

Potty training my youngest. Can't . . . discuss . . . football.

Understandable. Good luck, Jeff. Brookie?

Re: 44-6

I'm so glad cats are attached to their litter boxes from birth. The Eagles have been the best team in the NFC East in this decade. You could argue they've also been the best team in the NFC. The Cowboys have been trying to catch them since 2001 and have mostly failed. Now they have another chance.

Re: 44-6

Anything worth having - dogs, babies, and men - requires training. I should know.

As much as Eagles fans complain, I'm quite sure Jerry would change places with them and take the Eagles results this decade. He can't even get a playoff win with home-field advantage and the bye.

Re: 44-6

My cat is the coolest animal on the planet. She's mesmerized by the printer as I type. Jerry might trade this decade, but he wouldn't throw in those three rings from the previous decade.

The 44-6 games means nothing. Neither does the Giants game. Everybody is beating the Giants right now and the Cowboys are hot. The Eagles have been good at stopping their run game, but they better get up in Romo's face and do something about Witten. If not, next week all the articles will be back to how impotent the Eagles are.

Yes, covering the TE's has been a problem, so we better come up with a solution fast...

Has about as much carryover as the goofy McNabb phone call had on the Giants game, eh Brookover? Nada.

I can't believe they posted this garbage. Where is the analysis? Cats, potty training? Angelo Cataldi's non-sports talk "entertainment" is easier to tolerate than this mess. Of course it's possible for there to be a lingering effect from last year's annihilation, especially when their coach is Wade Phillips. I guess I'm the dope for getting worked up enough about this to come on here and post.

Like Ashley says, Cowboys won't forget 44-6. Eagles better be ready, because the Boys will be physical for sure.

the Giants tried to use the two games last season that the birds won as motivation and look where it got them. This comes down to who really is the better team and I think the birds are..not trying to be a homer. watching how the boys played against TB and KC and NY and even Seattle..those games went into the 2nd half. this monday bears all the hallmarks of a romp. later in the season is a different story. oakland happens to the birds every season..last year it was cincy. the boys d-line does not scare me at all.
