Here is how social media reacted to death of former Villanova head coach Rollie Massimino.

Massimino died Wednesday at the age of 82.

Steve Lappas, who succeeded Massimino as head coach of Villanova's basketball program, shared his thoughts on the man he considered one of his mentors.

Other coaches that paid their respects to Massimino included Penn's Steve Donahue and Kentuck's John Calipari.

Former Villanova guard Ryan Arcidiacono also chimed on Massimino.

The Athletic's Dana O'Neil covered Villanova during her time at the Daily News. O'Neil was among many members of the media to express their respect for the legendary head coach.

Even current Eagles defensive lineman Chris Long showed his respect via social media. Long's father, Howie, played at Villanova during Massimino's tenure with the school.
