Villanova loses by 2 at UConn

STORRS, Conn. — Before Monday, Villanova had played four road games: at Penn, La Salle, Monmouth and South Florida.
This was different. This time, the obstacle was a fellow top 10 Big East club.
For most of the way at Gampel Pavilion, it didn't make much of a difference. The seventh-ranked Wildcats (16-2, 4-1 conference) led No. 8 Connecticut (15-2, 4-2) by seven points with 9 minutes to go. But in the end, it came down to a great player making one more play than Villanova's main guy.

Villanova's Corey Fisher, his junior high school teammate, had tied things 20 seconds earlier, by making both ends of a 1-and-1 after getting fouled by Walker.
Walker finished with 24, just under his average.
Fisher had a season-high 28.
The Wildcats played without sixth man Dominic Cheek, who suffered a sprained left knee in Saturday's win over Maryland. He might not be available for Saturday's trip to Syracuse.
