Villanova's Robertson puts on another air show

National - Bo Wallace threw for three touchdowns, including two in the final 5 1/2 minutes, as Mississippi rallied to beat Alabama for the first time in 11 tries, 23-17.

Local - For the second straight time it's Rasheed Bailey, who set a Delaware Valley (4-0, 3-0 MAC) record for receiving yards, with 252 on nine catches, in a 56-24 win over Albright (1-4, 0-4). For the second game in a row he had four TD receptions, which also ties the program record.

Villanova 41, Maine 20

For the fourth consecutive game, John Robertson threw for four TDs for the Wildcats (4-1, 2-0 CAA), who are ranked fifth in FCS. They won in Orono for the third straight time after losing their five previous trips there.

For the second straight game, four players caught TD passes.

They've scored more than 40 in their four FCS games since losing in double overtime at Syracuse.

The Wildcats led 21-13 at halftime. It was 34-13 after three quarters.

Gary Underwood, who has been getting more opportunities because of an injury to Austin Medley, gained 70 yards on eight carries and scored once.

The Black Bears (2-3, 1-1) rushed for 59 yards on 28 attempts.

This week the Wildcats are home against Rhode Island (0-5, 0-2), which just lost at home to Brown.

Dartmouth 31, Penn 13

For the first time since 2007, and just the second time since 1997, the Quakers (0-3) lost their Ivy League opener.

They've now lost seven straight, and their last five in the Ivies.

This is the second time they've dropped their first three in 23 seasons under Al Bagnoli.

The visiting Quakers - who'd beaten Dartmouth 15 of the last 16 - opened the scoring with a TD. But by the half it was 28-10.

Dalyn Williams rushed for three TDs.

Penn's Alek Torgersen broke the 14-year-old school record for completions, going 40-for-58 for 350 yards. Spencer Kulcsar tied a 12-year-old program mark with 15 receptions.

Penn was outrushed, 218-33. For the first time in 13 Ivy games, it didn't force a turnover.

Things don't get easier. Now the Quakers go to Fordham (5-1), whose loss was to Villanova.

Five of the top eight teams lost, which has never happened before. And 11 that were ranked, which hadn't happened since Oct. 11, 2003.

Good thing the Selection Committee doesn't have to come up with its inaugural Final Four for another 2 months.

Some of the losses were worse than others. In the SEC West, everyone's probably going to lose at least once before it's over. So you might as well get used to it.

But Oregon at home? Of course it's not like this is the first time the Ducks have done something like that. Ditto Oklahoma. But UCLA at home? For the first time in quite a while it's a good day to be a team from the state of Mississippi. Who figured?

Still, there's a long way to go. There figure to be a lot more changes by Thanksgiving and even beyond. It's why college football is the best regular-season of any sport. So fasten up, and just hope your team isn't next up on the hit list.

By the way, it should be noted that Oregon was 34-3 in the Pac-12 in Chip Kelly's four seasons. The Ducks are 8-3 under Mark Helfrich. Since 2011 they've lost six times as a Top 5 team. That's more than anyone else in FBS. Three have been in Eugene.
