Villanova women no match for UConn

A poor shooting effort and an even worse turnover margin made an easy night for Connecticut to cruise past a listless Villanova, 81-35, in women's basketball action at Gampel Pavilion last night in Storrs, Conn.

Lindsay Kimmel led Villanova (7-6, 0-1 Big East) with six points while Laura Sweeney and Jesse Carey each scored five, including shooting 2-for-2 apiece from the foul line.

But Tiffany Hayes (22 points) and Maya Moore (16) and the rest of the Huskies (12-1, 2-0 Big East) took advantage of Wildcat miscues, scoring 23 points off 14 Villanova turnovers.
