Matt McCann, a senior at Pittsburgh's Keystone Oaks High, gave an oral commitment Tuesday to play football at Villanova.

The 5-foot-9, 180-pounder was a standout at both running back and middle linebacker for the Golden Eagles. McCann chose the Wildcats over William and Mary, Boston College, Eastern Michigan and Ohio University. He will likely play defense at Villanova.

"I just felt very comfortable with the players, the coaches, the university itself, and the scheme they run," McCann said in a statement. "It just all felt like a perfect fit."

Last season, McCann finished with 125 tackles, three fumble recoveries and one interception. Offensively, he rushed for 1,804 yards (10.25 yards per carry) and 22 touchdowns.

McCann will become the second Golden Eagle to play at Villanova. Former Keystone Oaks star Michael Costanzo was a three-year Wildcats starter at guard from 2004 to 2006.
