The latest:  This is the first in a stretch of five out of six games in South Philadelphia for the Wildcats. … After starting 1 for 8 from the field, Brunson knocked down his last eight shots — four from beyond the arc — in Saturday's 81-61 win at Connecticut. … The Wildcats' defense has come alive in the last four games, allowing opponents an average of 63.3 points and limiting them to 41.5 percent shooting. … In the Big East, 'Nova ranks first in scoring (87.9 points per game), points allowed (68.4), field-goal percentage (51.0 percent), three-point percentage (41.7) and made three-pointers (11.7). … Of the Cats' 18 wins, six have come at home, six on the road and six on neutral courts. … The Friars have won four straight games, the latest being Saturday's 85-71 home win over Creighton behind a career-high 21 points from sophomore Alpha Diallo. … Senior Kyron Cartwright leads the Big East in assists at 6.4 per game but he has improved his numbers in conference games, averaging 16.7 points and 7.7 assists while shooting nearly 53 percent from the field.
