Last meeting: With James Demery scoring 24 points and Shavar Newkirk adding 23, the Hawks snapped a seven-game losing streak to St. Bonaventure with an 85-78 home win on Jan. 6.
The latest: The Hawks have consecutive wins over Dayton and Fordham. In Saturday’s 68-46 win over visiting Fordham, 6-foot-6 senior Demery scored 25 points and 6-8 redshirt sophomore Pierfrancesco Oliva added a career-high 22. … Demery averages a team-high 18.1 points. … The Hawks are averaging 15.4 fouls per game, fewest in the Atlantic Ten. … St. Bonaventure fell in its last game, 83-73, Friday at Davidson. Matt Mobley, a 6-3 senior, led the Bonnies with 25 points against a Davidson team that shot 52.8 percent from the field. … Mobley averages 17.6 points, second on the team to senior guard Jaylen Adams (18.5 ppg.). … The Bonnies are third in the A-10 in scoring (76.5 ppg.).
Massachusetts (10-10, 3-4 Atlantic Ten) at La Salle (8-12, 2-5)

Last meeting: UMass’ Luwane Pipkins, a 5-11 sophomore, set a Mullins Center record with 44 points as the Minutemen beat La Salle, 86-79, in overtime Jan. 10. Pookie Powell scored a career-high 30 points for the Explorers.
The latest: La Salle has one of the top scoring tandems in the A-10 in B.J. Johnson (20.9 ppg.) and Powell (18.6 ppg.). … The Explorers have lost five of six, including Saturday’s 81-74 defeat at Richmond in which Johnson scored 27 points. La Salle trailed by as many as 13 points in the first half and led by as many as 10 in the second. … The Explorers are second in the A-10 in free-throw shooting (76.0 percent). … UMass has dropped two in a row, including a 66-47 home loss Saturday to St. Louis.. … Pipkins averages a team-high 19.4 points, and the only other double-figure scorer is 6-4 freshman Carl Pierre, who averages 11.4 points and is shooting a team-best 47.8 percent from three-point range.

The latest: Temple scored the final 12 points in Saturday’s 60-51 win over Penn. … Temple 6-10 senior Obi Enechionyia is shooting 11 for 25 (44 percent) from three-point range in his last four games. … Sophomore swingman Quinton Rose is averaging a team-high 14.4 points but has not reached double figures in four of the last six games. … In the earlier loss to Cincinnati, Enechionyia had a team-high 14 points…Cincinnati’s Kyle Washington, a 6-9 forward, had a game-high 18 points in the earlier win over Temple. … The Bearcats are second in the country in scoring defense, allowing 57.4 points per game. … Evans leads the Bearcats with a 13.9 scoring average. Cincinnati has won 36 straight home games, the longest current streak in the nation.
