Temple board to vote on funds for stadium architect

Fans cheer on the Temple Owls football team.

Temple will soon be taking one of the earliest steps in its quest to build an on-campus football stadium.

A source familiar with the process said that on Tuesday, the executive committee of Temple’s Board of Trustees will conduct a vote on appropriating funds for a stadium architect.

If it is approved then Temple can reach out to architects for bids on designing the stadium.

In October, The Inquirer reported that Temple’s goal is to build a 35,000-seat stadium at an estimated cost of $100 million. The stadium would be situated at the northwest corner of campus, about a block or two behind the Liacouras Center.
