Temple added Boston College’s career rushing leader to the Owls roster.

After being off kicked of the Eagles’ football team in May, Montel Harris has transferred to Temple. He arrived on campus Sunday.

The running back, who was released from Boston College’s program for a repeated violation of team rules, reunites with former Boston College wideouts coach Ryan Day and former Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Rogers.

Day is Temple’s new offensive coordinator and wideouts coach. Rogers is the Owls’ new associate head coach and quarterbacks coach.

After receiving a medical redshirt, the recent Boston College has one more season of eligibility. Harris was able to transfer without sitting out a year by taking graduate courses at Temple that are not offered at Boston College.

The 5-foot-10, 207-pounder played in just two games last season, because of a recurring knee injury. Harris also missed spring practice.

In addition to being the school's leading rusher (3,735 yards), he’s BC’s career leader in 100-yard games (22) and carries (786), and ranks third in touchdowns (27).

Another thug imposes his unacceptable work ethics on a desperate program. Let's see how long it takes for him to step out of line again

If Harris stays healthy ...him and Matt Brown could be one of the best RB tandems in the nation. This move will definitely help fill the void of Pierce.

Daz keeps brining in talent. Another NFL caliber RB in the stable.

Montel's a nice addition. He's not a head case. Why would he re-unite with his prior offensive coaches if he was the problem. He should blend in well with at Temple.

I trust Daz and I believe in giving KIDS second chances. but I don't want temple to support the non-sense that went on at UF during Meyer's tenure, i.e. 26 arrests in 6 years.

This Temple team will surprise the critics, no doubt. I'm looking forward to a winning season and bowl game.

Great transfer for the Owls. This kid doesn't seem like a head case or discipline issue. He's a stud running back who can help the owls in their inaugural season in the big east. Welcome Montel!

Rumor has it he was kicked off the team at BC because he refused to participate in contact drills while he was injured. Should be a fantastic addition.

It's about attitude and character – or it should be. It just demonstrates that we are willing to lower our standards to try and compete. Haven’t we just seen how football distorted the moral compass of Penn State? I don’t want to be BIG TIME football that bad if at all. Let’s keep our standards at the level BC feels are appropriate. Going to the BE was a mistake – it will haunt us down the road. What, we are too good for the A10 and MAC? We are just too greedy.
