Allen is A-10 and Big Five player of week
Temple’s Lavoy Allen was named the Atlantic Ten men’s basketball player of the week on Monday. The 6-foot-9 power forward averaged 18 points, 14.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocked shots and 2.5 assists in last week’s games against Duke and George Washington. The senior shot 55.6 percent from the floor – including 80 percent from three-point territory.

The 6-foot-9 power forward averaged 18 points, 14.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocked shots and 2.5 assists in last week's games against Duke and George Washington. The senior shot 55.6 percent from the floor – including 80 percent from three-point territory.
Showing range, he made 3 of 4 three-point attempts en route to scoring a team-high 17 points at Duke Wednesday night. He also paced Temple with 13 rebounds to with three assists, two steals and two blocked shots in the 78-61 setback.
On Saturday at George Washington, Allen finished with game highs of 19 points and 16 rebounds. The preseason all-American, who made his lone three-pointer, also had three blocked shots and two assists in the Owls' 57-41 victory.
In other A-10 news, St. Joseph's Langston Galloway and St. Louis' Dwayne Evans shared rookie of the week honors.
