Tyliek Raynor, a standout running back from PIAA Class 3A state champion Imhotep Charter, has made an oral commitment to Temple.

Originally committed to Arizona, Raynor said Tuesday on Twitter that he has switched to Temple.

Imhotep coach Al Crosby told The Inquirer that Arizona and Illinois were Raynor's other finalists.

"The way things worked out, he wanted to be closer to home, he loves Temple, and he has a great relationship with coach [Matt] Rhule," Crosby said.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Raynor suffered an ankle injury and appeared in just seven games as a senior, missing the end of the season. Crosby said Raynor did not play defense and was being recruited strictly as a running back.

"Temple has been recruiting him since he was a sophomore and he went to their camp and ran a 4.3 [40-yard dash]," Crosby said.
