Transfer from Pitt allowed to play football for Temple

GOOD NEWS for Temple football. Wide receiver Adonis Jennings will be eligible to play this season after transferring from the University of Pittsburgh, the Daily News has confirmed.

The news was first reported by Owlscoop.com

The South Jersey native, who left Pitt after one year for family reasons, will not have to sit out a season after successfully petitioning the NCAA for a waiver. He played sparingly as a freshman after starring at Timber Creek High School.

The Owls begin preseason camp Thursday. They open their season at home against Penn State on Sept. 5.

They might also have wideout Robbie Anderson available again. He had 44 receptions, a team-leading 791 yards and nine touchdowns in 2013 before being dismissed from the team for academic reasons. But he recently returned to the university and should be cleared to play as long as he fulfills the necessary summer coursework requirements.

The Owls went 6-6 last season, a four-win improvement from coach Matt Rhule's debut, but their passing game struggled noticably, compared with 2013.
