Khalif Wyatt trial is postponed

The trial for Temple basketball star Khalif Wyatt that was scheduled for Thursday in Atlantic City municipal court has been adjourned, according to Wyatt's attorney, Peter Sarkos.

The new date is Aug. 6 at 1:30 p.m.

Wyatt was charged with engaging in prostitution and resisting arrest. He was one of 28 people arrested on June 10 and charged as part of a two-day Atlantic City prostitution sweep conducted by the city's Special Investigation Unit.

Wyatt, who was celebrating his 21st birthday, according to his Twitter feed, will be a senior this coming school year. He is from Norristown.

According to Atlantic City police, Wyatt was arrested at 1:01 a.m. June 10 near a hotel at Montpelier and Pacific Avenues after allegedly making an offer to pay for sex. Wyatt fled when he saw a uniformed officer and was apprehended about 50 yards away, police said.

Wyatt was named to the all-Atlantic Ten Conference second team last season. He averaged 17.1 points per game, fourth in the conference.

During Temple's 24-8 campaign, Wyatt was kept out of the starting lineup three times for disciplinary reasons.
