Temple University is expected to hire Florida offensive coordinator Steve Addazio as its next head football coach, sources close to the situation told the Daily News today.

A press conference is scheduled for 11 a.m. tomorrow.

Penn State defensive coordinator Tom Bradley was told earlier today that he would not be the choice, another source said. Bradley interviewed last week.

Temple has not confirmed the choice. As is his policy, athletic director Bill Bradshaw has not spoken throughout the process.

The decision comes on the heels of reports that Addazio was heading to the University of Texas as the offensive line coach. Texas officials denied the report last night.

Addazio, 51, was looking for a job after Urban Meyer resigned at Florida and was replaced by Will Muschamp.

Meyer is scheduled to coach in the Outback Bowl against Penn State on Jan. 1. It is unknown whether Addazio will coach in that game.

He was part of two BCS national championship teams with the Gators. He was hired in 2005 as the offensive line/tight ends coach, was promoted to assistant head coach in 2007 and spent the last two years as offensive coordinator.

He has been a college assistant since 1995, with various roles as an offensive line or tight ends coach at Syracuse, Notre Dame, Indiana and Florida.

Al Golden left for Miami on Dec. 12.

The Owls finished 8-4 and did not make a bowl game.
