Temple University has been selected to host the 2011 NCAA Women's Basketball Championship Philadelphia Regional at the Liacouras Center, as the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee today announced the hosts for the first- and second-round and regional games in 2011.

The Philadelphia games will be played on March 27 and 29, 2011.

"We are pleased that the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee has seen fit to reward Temple University with this prestigious event," Temple athletics director Bill Bradshaw said. "This is a credit to our fine staff, in particular associate athletic director Kristen Foley, who did a tremendous job of running the 2005 Women's Basketball Regional, one of the most successful regionals in the tournament's history.
