Temple at Central Michigan

Today at 4 p.m., Kelly/Shorts Stadium, Mount Pleasant, Mich.

Radio: WPHT-AM (1210).

Records: Temple, 2-4, 1-2 Mid-American Conference; Central Michigan, 3-2, 2-0.

Coaches: Temple, Al Golden (third season, 7-23); Central Michigan, Butch Jones (second season, 11-8).

Temple update: Golden keeps trying different running backs, and he liked what he saw in freshman Kee-ayre Griffin, who had a 25-yard touchdown run last week in Temple's 28-10 win at Miami of Ohio. Quarterback Chester Stewart threw for three TDs.

Central Michigan preview: Chippewas QB Dan LeFevour, the MAC's offensive player of the year last season, is up to his old tricks, leading the conference in total offense with 317 yards per game. Today is homecoming for the defending MAC champions, who were idle last week after beating Buffalo, 27-25, on Sept. 27.
