One would assume Temple coach Steve Addazio would be extremely talkative about traveling to Connecticut to coach in his first Big East road game.
The Owls’ second-year coach is a Farmington, Conn., native, who played on the offensive and defensive line at Central Connecticut State. UConn coach Paul Pasqualoni gave him his first coaching job as an assistant coach at Western Connecticut State in the mid 1980s. Addazio also coached under Pasqualoni from 1995-98 at Syracuse after turning Cheshire High School (Conn.) into a national powerhouse.
But instead of reminiscing, Addazio acted as if Saturday’s game was any other road trip.
“This is my home right now,” Addazio said Tuesday of Philadelphia. “Am I proud of where I’m from? You darn right, I’m proud of where I’m from. Do I think that Connecticut did a lot for me? There’s no question the state of Connecticut did a lot for me.
