St. Joe's Charlie Brown Jr. breaks his left wrist
The talented sophomore forward underwent surgery. He could miss the Nov. 11 season opener.
St. Joseph's sophomore forward Charlie Brown Jr., suffered a fracture in his left wrist in practice last week. An athletic department spokeswoman said Wednesday it's "too early to tell" if Brown will be back in time for the Hawks' season opener at Toledo on Nov. 11.
Brown, a 6-foot-7 sophomore who was named a 2017 preseason all-Atlantic Ten third-team selection, underwent surgery on Tuesday to repair the fracture. He is undergoing rehab but a determination has yet to be made on when he will return to practice.
Brown earned all-rookie honors in the A-10 last season, averaging 12.8 points and 5.0 rebounds while playing in all 31 games with 30 starts. He knocked down a team-high 71 three-point baskets and shot 38.4 percent from beyond the arc and 81.9 percent on free throws.
