St. Joseph's men's basketball team has been chosen as the preseason favorite in an Atlantic-10 poll of coaches and media.

The Hawks did not lose a starter from last season's 20-14 team that earned a berth in the NIT.

Hawks guards Carl Jones and Langston Galloway were named to the preseason second-team all A-10 squad while center C.J. Aiken and forward Halil Kanacevic were third-team choices.

St. Louis was picked second in the A-10, followed by newcomer VCU.

Locally, Temple was picked fourth and La Salle was seventh.
