The report, filed with Cleveland police on Sunday, says that Kimberly West met with authorities at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, where she had gone to fly to her father's house in New Jersey.
In the report, she says that Delonte West had accused her of cheating on him and that they had an argument in which he grabbed her and took her wedding ring and purse.
Police said yesterday the case remains under investigation and that no charges have been filed. WOIO-TV in Cleveland first reported the complaint.
Cavaliers coach Mike Brown said the team is aware of the report and is monitoring the situation.
West, a former star guard at Saint Joseph's, has not appeared in any preseason games, and Brown has not decided whether West will be active for the season opener tonight against Boston. West was at the Cavs' practice yesterday but was not made available to the media.
West, who has been treated in the past for bipolar disorder, twice left the team during training camp for personal reasons. He also is facing misdemeanor weapons-possession charges stemming from a September arrest in Maryland.
* Charles Barkley thinks he can do better than some of the general managers he criticizes on TV.
The Hall of Fame player and TNT analyst said he'd like his chance to run an NBA team, though he's in no rush because he'd want the right job.
"I think that it'd be fun to try to build my own team," Barkley said at a luncheon in New York, joined by studio partners Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson. "We talk about it all the time. Sometimes we say, 'What is that guy doing? Why did he draft that guy? Why did he make a trade for that guy?'
"Some of these guys have done a bad job, plain and simple."
The 46-year-old Barkley planned to do TV for only a couple of years, but is now in his 10th season with TNT. He's in no hurry to leave for a team executive job that opened up, because some of them wouldn't give him an opportunity to be successful.
"Every job ain't a good job," said Barkley, who said he wouldn't take any position unless he was given complete control of basketball decisions.
* Portland Trail Blazers forward Nicolas Batum will undergo surgery on his right shoulder to repair torn cartilage. The team said a return date will be determined after Friday's surgery in Los Angeles.
Batum appeared in 79 games as a rookie last season, starting 76. He averaged 5.4 points and 2.8 rebounds.
* The Phoenix Suns were awarded the rights to center Jarron Collins, who was waived last week by the Portland Trail Blazers.
The 6-11 Collins is an eight-year NBA veteran who has career averages of 4.3 points and 3.1 rebounds in 480 games.
