St. Joe's, Villanova with conference games on Wednesday

Saint Joseph's goes for its fourth straight win when it plays George Mason on Wednesday. Villanova gets a boost to its lineup when DePaul visits the WFC.

Last meeting: Otis Livingston II drained a three-pointer at the buzzer to lead the Patriots to an 81-79 victory over the Hawks last month in Fairfax, Va.  Shavar Newkirk had 24 points and Chris Clover scored 19 for the Hawks.

The latest: Saint Joseph's – Newkirk (26 points, 10 assists) and Nick Robinson (16 points, 11 rebounds) had double-doubles to lead the Hawks (12-14, 7-7) past Duquesne for their third straight victory – the longest winning streak of the season. St. Joe's is 9-2 at Hagan Arena. Taylor Funk set a freshman record for three-pointers with his 72nd. George Mason – The Patriots (12-15, 6-8) came to Philadelphia and loss at La Salle on Saturday.  George Mason led by 12 at the half but La Salle rallied. Justin Kier had 19 points and seven rebounds.  The Patriots are 3-8 in road games. Livingston II is the leading scorer with 17.0 ppg. Four players score in double-digits.

Last meeting: The two teams played in their Big East Conference opener on Dec. 27 when Mikal Bridges scored 20 points to lead the visiting Wildcats to a 103-85 win.

The latest: Villanova guard Phil Booth participated Tuesday in his first full practice since breaking a bone in his right hand on Jan. 23 and will play. … The Wildcats had a season high 25 assists in their 95-79 win over Xavier and their six turnovers marked the fourth time this season they had committed six or fewer. … Donte DiVincenzo is averaging 15.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists in conference games. … The Blue Demons followed an impressive 17-point win at Providence on Feb. 10 with a pair of defeats – by one point and five points. … They are led in scoring by junior guard Max Strus, who is averaging 16.8 points. … DePaul outrebounded Villanova, 50-32, in their first meeting.
