Penn State ends productive recruiting weekend with two more pledges
Penn State concluded a productive weekend of recruiting by receiving five oral commitments from high school players, the last two coming Sunday.
Penn State coach James Franklin concluded a productive weekend by receiving oral commitments from wide receiver Daniel George of Oxon Hill, Md., and kicker Jake Pinegar of Ankeny, Iowa, according to the Twitter accounts of both players.
Fueled in part by the annual "Lasch Bash" for committed high school players and sought-after recruits, the Nittany Lions picked up pledges during the weekend from five recruits, increasing their total of committed players for the freshman class of 2018 to 19 players.
The 6-foot-1 1/2, 200-pound George, ranked four stars by several recruiting services, chose Penn State over Maryland, North Carolina, Louisville, Wisconsin and West Virginia, among other schools.
Other recruits who pledged during the weekend were defensive end Judge Culpepper of Tampa, Fla., quarterback Will Levis of Middletown, Conn., and wide receiver Shaquon Anderson-Butts of Harrisburg.
