Penn State announces some ticket price changes for 2013

Penn State has announced changes in the pricing structure for some of its 2013 football tickets at Beaver Stadium, including the addition of a new tier for upper level seats.

In a press release, the university said there will be no ticket prices increases or donation-per-seat hike for 2013. But there have been more adjustments made of current seating zones, with changes that will affect more than 11,500 seats.

Acting athletic director Dave Joyner said the changes have been made with two goals in mind.

"One (is to) offer our fans additional, more appealing options in order to maximize the number of Nittany Lion fans coming to Beaver Stadium and cheering on our team each week," Joyner said, "and two, grow the revenues needed to maintain, in an increasingly difficult climate, the excellent competitive and classroom performance that Penn Staters everywhere expect."

Seats that required a $400 donation per seat this year – in sections EGU, ECU, WGU and WCU – will require $200 next season, the university said. Seats that required a $600 donation – in sections EFU, EDU, WFU and WDU – will require $400 next season.

The university and the Nittany Lion Club also introduced a program called "One Team Commitment," which is a five-year commitment for club members that will earn for them bonus points that help them secure season tickets and priority seating for football.
