The 5-foot-11, 195-pound Sanders, who plays for Woodland Hills High School, also had offers from Michigan, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, and Temple. He is rated four stars by several recruiting websites. The site 247Sports ranks him the ninth-best running back in the country and the No. 3 player in Pennsylvania.

"I'm Officially a Nittany Lion; First Commit of 2016," Sanders wrote on Twitter.

Also Saturday, Penn State received its 18th commitment for 2015 from Haddonfield's Irvin Charles, a 6-4, 212-pound wide receiver from Paul VI High. The Nittany Lions' 2015 class is ranked fourth by Scout, 247Sports, and ESPN, and fifth by Rivals.
