Haverford beaten in NCAA play

Haverford College suffered its first loss in the NCAA Division III baseball tournament Thursday, 10-2, to Baldwin Wallace (27-18) in the second round of the Mid-Atlantic Regional in Moosic, Pa.

Haverford, 23-19 and seeded eighth, will play Wesleyan (28-12) on Friday.

In another Mid-Atlantic Regional game, second-seeded Rowan fell to No. 3 seed Susquehanna, 5-4.

The Profs (33-11) will play Misericordia (30-14-1) in the second game of the double-elimination tournament on Friday.

In a wild game in the Ithaca (N.Y.) Regional, fourth-seeded Rutgers-Camden (30-12-1) eliminated eighth-seeded Castleton State College, 18-11.

The Scarlet Raptors blew an early seven-run lead before bouncing back to defeat the Spartans (29-12) a in a game that featured 29 runs, 38 hits, and 12 walks.

Temple (9-13 American Athletic Conference, 14-29 overall) knocked off No. 16 Houston, 4-1, at Campbell's Field. The loss dropped Houston to 40-14, 13-9.
